Becoming a Preferred Installer:
As a Preferred Installer with The Portal Pros, you gain access to a steady stream of high-quality, pre-qualified customer leads—at no cost to you. Our in-house marketing and sales team handles all customer acquisition, allowing you to focus solely on delivering excellent installation service.
To remain in good standing and continue receiving leads, installers are required to maintain active general liability insurance, along with any local or state licensing applicable in your service area. Most importantly, we expect a strong commitment to quality workmanship, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
Once a job is completed, you’ll receive 70% of the total installation fee, typically within a two business days. Payment is processed upon submission of two simple items:
1.) Photo documentation of the completed installation
2.) Customer sign-off confirming the job has been completed to their satisfaction (text, phone or email)
This partnership is designed to be efficient, profitable, and rewarding for installers who take pride in their work. We value long-term relationships with professionals who align with our commitment to quality and customer care.
In some areas, we may enroll Multiple Preferred Installers to ensure coverage and faster service for customers. However, we believe in rewarding excellence, which is why installer performance plays a key role in how leads are distributed.
While all Preferred Installers have the opportunity to receive free leads, those who consistently deliver high-quality work, maintain strong communication, and earn top customer reviews will receive priority. This means better-performing installers are more likely to be offered jobs first when leads come in.
We track key performance indicators such as:

- Timeliness and reliability
- Quality of installation (including photo proof)
- Responsiveness and professionalism

Standard Franchise Territory Size and Expansion Options
As a franchisee, you'll be assigned a protected territory that typically includes a population of up to 300,000 people. This base territory size is designed to offer you a strong customer base while maintaining manageable service logistics.
If you're interested in growing beyond that, we offer the option to expand your territory. Additional coverage is available for just $200 per 1,000 residents, allowing you to scale at your own pace and target neighboring areas with confidence.
We recognize that not all regions are created equal. In some areas, local conditions can impact the market differently. For example, cities with long, cold winters—like Minneapolis—typically see fewer pet door installations throughout the year compared to warmer regions like Houston, Texas, where demand remains strong year-round. Similarly, in densely populated urban areas or communities where economic hardship limits discretionary spending, the number of ideal customers may be lower. We’re open to adjusting the size of your territory to ensure it remains both fair and profitable. These exceptions are handled on a case-by-case basis to ensure our franchisees are set up for long-term success.

Staking Territory Claims: Franchises are on a "first come first serve" basis. If you lock in one of the most affluent large pet friendly cities in California or Arizona, congratulations, the next franchise owner would have to register a service address outside of your region.
